RACE / LAP / SECTOR
Follow a question into the lap.
Put two laps side by side. Follow the speed, the throttle and the rhythm of a corner. Compare two drivers, or revisit one driver at different moments of a race.
START WITH A RACE
Two circuits. Eight laps to begin.

Interval analysis: compare speed and pedal signals in one part of the lap
FROM TRACES TO NUMBERS / AUDITABLE INTERVAL ESTIMATES
Choose an interval. Then inspect how it is measured.
Select the same fraction of each lap or sector’s elapsed time. The first half of S2 means the first 50% of each driver’s own S2 duration, not matching positions around the circuit.
Use whole percentages from 0 to 100, with start before end; apply after editing.

Lap 41

- Brake signal on
- 25.00 s · 26.34%
- Throttle ≤1%, brake off
- 0.48 s · 0.51%
Means and state percentages use covered time only. Brake is an on/off signal, not pedal pressure; these estimates alone cannot explain why one lap was quicker.
Inspect brake-signal runs and seek their source samples
These contiguous runs come from the left-hold estimate, not exact brake onset or release times. Times are seconds from that lap’s start; each button seeks the source sample in the replay above.

Calculation method and uncovered intervals
Hold each value until the next sample, clipped to the selected bounds. Exclude an entire interval when consecutive samples are more than two seconds apart. Do not extrapolate before the first or after the last sample. Weight speed, throttle and state durations by the same covered intervals.
Throttle and brake signals can overlap, so the listed state durations need not sum to covered time. Sector ranges use that lap’s timing boundaries; the final sector ends at the lap duration.
